LESSONS
Riding Lesson (5-7 yrs)
45 minute lesson specially designed for students 5-7 years of age. Students will learn an intro to horse safety, and will be challenged to groom and tack their horse with assistance from the instructor. Students will ride their horse on a lunge line until the instructor deems it appropriate for them to ride free.
Habitual students will be working toward a goal of balance and steering, and will be able to play riding games that challenge their independence.
Riding Lesson (8+ yrs)
60 minute lesson designed for students 8 years and older (yes, adults, that means you too!). Students will learn an intro to horse safety, grooming, tacking, riding and cooling down.
Habitual students will also learn other horsemanship skills including but not limited to: basic first aid/wound care, stretching, bathing, braiding/plaiting, clipping, blanketing, etc. These skills will be taught throughout the seasons.
Ground Lesson (12+ yrs)
60 minute lesson perfect for students that want to feel more confident on the ground with a horse, or for students that want to learn new skills! Students will learn the basics of leading and lunging and walking horses through obstacles.
Habitual Students will learn other skills including but not limited to: exercise lunging, holding for a farrier, trailering, understanding conformation and horse behavior, etc.
About the Instructor…
Abi Camarillo has been in the Equine industry for over 12 years. She graduated from Meredith Manor International Equestrian College and has worked as a trainer, barn manager and instructor in several states, as well as Spain. She specializes in teaching the classical dressage seat and has competed in Western Dressage, Reining and Jumping. She is passionate about Equine Anatomy and Biomechanics and loves to pass her knowledge on to her students. She believes that every horseperson should not only have a strong, balanced seat, but should also have strong horsemanship skills as well. She challenges her students to be independent thinkers and riders and put their knowledge to work.
